Last night I invited my sisters and their husbands out for what I called my last supper. My 2 week pre-op begins today... And all day yesterday I had the feeling that I was going away somewhere like an extended trip or moving out of town, it was the strangest thing. I woke up this morning with stomach in knots but totally purpose driven. I can't believe after all this time I'm 2 weeks out.

I'm hoping that's the case, that it gets easier over time ... What sucks major is that we're having Valentine's Day parties tomorrow (I teach) and I've been begging my kids not to bring me anything ... But I know chocolate will surround me haha

I vividly remember the last day before starting my rigorous 1 month pre-surgery liver shrinking weight loss program. For lunch I went to Cici's pizza chowing down on the "all you can eat buffet, and for supper I showed up at Furr's Cafeteria and had their all you can eat buffet. I had a chicken fried steak, pan fries, coconut pie, jalapeno cornbread, mashed potatoes, and a diet coke :) . I went out with a bang. Now, 6 months later, most of that type of food doesn't even interest me. I don't miss it, but I'm glad I got it out of my system. I haven't had a carbonated drink since then either

Where did you go? Brazilian steakhouse for me. Good luck with pre-op. The liquids really help control cravings so even if you weren't asked to do liquid, give it a shot!

This weekend I will have my last supper before pre surgery diet. I am not sure what I will have but I will cheat a little I am sure. It will probably have bread and gravy as part of it.

I went to Outback Steakhouse (I'm a fiend for their chicken pasta), added a little steak, some wings, a few drinks... It was awesome. My first day I decided to do all liquids and so far so good

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
