Have anyone else experienced being able to eat more on some days and on others only able to eat a few tablespoons and be full?

Some days I eat, some days I am not hungry. I think the best answer is to just eat healthy. Good luck!!

It depends on what I eat. If I eat chicken breast, I might eat a few bites and be full. If I am eating Soup I can eat a small bowl and be happy. I run a home daycare, and if lunch gets crazy I forget to eat, and sometimes for dinner I might just have a string cheese and be full. I have to make myself eat a spoonful of Peanut Butter before bed because I haven't got enough calories for the day. I am almost 8 months out and I still have days where I only get 700-800 calories in because I simply forget to eat or am not hungry.

You are not alone there. Some days I seem to be really hungry, some days not so much. I just stick to my plan and go with healthy choices it`s all is good.

When I'm out and about, I set my cell phone alarm, so I am reminded to eat. After all of these years, I still do not get hungry and if I'm busy, I just don't. But later either that day or the next I will feel fatigued. That is when I remember that I didn't eat. Setting my cell alarm helps keep me on track.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
