Pain/Discomfort/Recovery: C-Section vs. Gastric Sleeve?

Hi all! I'm still new here but I feel as if I'm getting to know some of you just by reading all of your posts. I am also learning so much and loving this site!

Quick question:

I have only had 1 surgery in my adult life - a C-section. I know every person is different, and every surgery is different, so I will not take your answers as a guarantee, but I'm curious...

If you've had both a C-section AND a gastric sleeve, how would you compare your pain/discomfort/recovery?

  • I agree with most of the above post. I used the pain meds after the sleeve for maybe 24 hours. I remember after both C-sections I had the meds for a couple more days. So much easier to get out of bed

I had 2 c sections and I would say the gastric pain was worse bc i had a hernia repaired as well and getting up was the worst.i even told the nurse id rather have v section pain than this sleeve pain

I'm sorry you had that experience. I had a hernia repaired as well and yeah that does add to the difficulty. Maybe my c section was harder than yours though, because the sleeve was still way easier for me.

Though maybe it's because you actually get to rest after your sleeve, LOL. No crying baby/feedings round the clock!
