I am week two post op. So far, it's hell. I'm having such a hard time getting in Protein, let alone any food. I'm definitely feeling exhausted from lack of food. I am in the full liquid stage. Pulease help me out and let me know what worked for you. Any secretes? So far organic Tomato Soup with unflavored Protein power is all I can do that doesn't make me nauseated.

vanilla premier Protein pre made shakes worked for me it had to be very cold i would put it in the freezer 20 min before drinking. as far as getting Water in i would mix it with apple or grape juice no sugar added. it definetley made getting my Fluid intake alot easier. it does get easier every passing day.

I had a hard time breathing - make sure to get an incentive spermoter! It will make sure you are using your lungs and don't accumulate Fluid in your lungs. I did and ended up in the ER.

Good luck!

Sip, sip, and sip some more. I used my cap from the medicine bottle to drink 30ml every 15 minutes and then increased the frequency after a couple of days.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
