Gettin' jiggly with it...

The fat! It jiggles now!!

:D

I have been losing weight evenly all over for the last year. Even from my fingers apparently (have had to buy smaller rings twice now)!

But the last month or so, I've noticed that I'm really, really jiggly. Like the fat parts are looser, less firm and much more Jello like (I was always a very solid/firmly packed fat girl). After searching all over, it appears that this is a good sign that the fat areas are jiggly, because they are filled with Water instead of full fat cells; because the fat is in the process of being broken down and used.

I have been doing really well exercising and noticed also that holding my legs or arms out a certain way causes the fat areas to sort of hang off like fabric and I see the muscle definition very clearly. But the skin itself is doing fine, thank goodness (no real saggy stuff happening yet).

This also could mean that if I'm drinking enough Water, I'll start seeing a real reduction in the jiggly areas soon.

So does this sound about right? Anyone else have experience or insight into the jiggle?

Yep, my arms and thighs are quite squishy now! Seems to me it's just because there's less fat in my skin and my skin needs a chance to catch up. I'm just trying to take my Vitamins, hydrate, and lotion myself up like crazy person and hope for the best!

This is great!

I noticed that I first started getting jiggly while walking into my surgeon's office for my first post-op follow up. Even my mom noticed.

You know those stalls everyone complains of? It seems to me that is when I tighten up more. Then I get jiggly again, then I tighten up, etc.

I saw my PT for my lymphedema last week. We had put off heavy treatment until I had lost a good amount of weight after surgery. We are starting today. Anyway, she was REALLY happy that my legs are so jiggly. It is a good thing.

Congratulations on your progress!!! Keep up the great work!

You're doing a lot better than I am at this point considering our surgeries were a month apart. Everyone's journey is different, yet very similar.

I've got lots of jiggly going on, too, along with some significant bat wing arms. Yes, muscle definition is more evident with a lot less fat to camouflage it. I need to have my good rings resized, but not read to do that until I lose more weight and get closer to goal. Until that time, I'll tolerate my rings slipping around my fingers, or I'll buy a couple of ring guards (scotch tape works, too :) lol!).

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
