Turns out someone already created one. Here are the instructions:

We are starting a closed/secret group on Facebook and would LOVE to have you join us.

2 years ago I had a sleeve done, but due to complications they are revising me from sleeve to bypass. I had an AMAZING group on Facebook that all had the same surgery that month. We were going through the same things whether it was venting one day, sharing milestones, and made lasting friendships!

Since it's a secret group there is some hoops to go through to get added (sorry, Facebook makes it harder) The good thing is that it's completely secret meaning none of your friends can know see posts or ever know you're in it This makes it a safe place for us because I know for some it's not something they want to share. Here's how to join:

1. Go to https://www.facebook.com/lanaepetersen and send me a friend request

2. I will accept the friend request, then send you an invite to the group.

3. After you are added to the group I'll unfriend

This is just great! It will be wonderful to have this FB group, you won't have to wade through so much stuff to get right to the most relevant info from people in the exact same boat, just great!! thanks for starting this!! pedro

My surgery date is February 9 if the weather cooperates. Snow had me cancel two of the 3 doctor appointments I was to have this week. Made it to one today, Upper GI on Monday and the other test was just cancelled. Starting to get nervous.

I'm the 8th ????! I just started getting nervous this morning. Not sure why. I've been getting all things organised and put in their place. I had my final visit with the actual surgeon yesterday. I signed all the final consent and acknowledgement papers. I signed filled out and signed the vitamin/mineral contract. I feel I've dotted all the "I's" and crossed all the "T's". I guess you would say I feel like I'm in a void; or limbo. A holding pattern!!

Hope you are doing well on your pre op diet????. I'm sure your excited to get the show on the road! Sending all my good Karma to you for the 9th????

Thanks Pedro! I've been a little quiet lately around here. Mostly just reading different opinions and personal stories. I saw my surgeon yesterday. It was the final step before you go to admitting at the hospital for surgery. It is Friday now, and I'm just feeling "different", at least that's how I describe it. I feel I am standing apart from myself, seeing all these events happening. Odd. It's like I've shut everything inside down, and I'm bracing for an impact.

Usually a perky lady, but now I'm just still and reflective. I love reading all the great supportive posts, and the sound advice of those who know the way around here! ????

Oh god, absolutely, hardly anyone in my little world knows, so I often feel very alone with this. I'll try to relax this weekend, then I go to work teaching school Monday and Tuesday, then early to hospital Wednesday to get it on!!

I know what you mean, I 've been real relaxed aboiut all this until just now, but even now I'm quiet, just awaiting this huge event. Have you been tempted to have a "last Supper?" I have but it ain't gonna happen, I'm psyched

Well If I'm honest. My experience wasn't that great first few days. But now is so much better. And I can definitely tell you it is worth it. All you need is patience. If you ever want to talk I'm here. ☺️

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
