9 days to go for me, very excited!!

You know, one thing that always has made me curious is how everyone talks about pre-op diets, and I wonder if they're talking about about just generally trying to lose as miuch weight as possible for the surgery or if their doctors placed them on liquid diets or whatnot prior to surgery. After reading people talking about it here, I asked my surgeon and he said No, just a clear liquid diet from the NIGHT before, but that's it... hmmmmm I guess many surgeons have different takes on this.

My pre-op diet is all liquids for 2 weeks pre-op. I have to drink 3 Protein Shakes a day one for each meal and can have sugar free Popsicles and Jello. Also broth. I am now on day 5 I can't say it is easy, it is a struggle but not un bearable. I keep going to frig to see what is there but then remember no eating. It is also hard because I have 2 young boys 8 and 10 so I still need to provide for them.

I go to surgery on Feb 8!????. I am very glad and also anxious. Trying to be a good girl and finish my 24 day pre op diet. I think I'm doing pretty good; I'm getting tired of all the Protein shakes! As the pre op diet goes on, I've lost my appetite almost completely. I don't feel hungry and eating feels like a forced affair. Weird!! But I'm trying.....????!! Best wishes for everyone, I'm rooting for all of you!!

Well, ha ha ha!, I'm not dying-yet!! ????. I've lost about 15# so far, my days are almost up. I've lost a total of about 45#, and I'm very pleased with that. I see my surgeon and the rest of the surgery team on the 4th to go over the surgery and do any last minute stuff he wants done for pre op. Then Monday its time to go! It's all been worth it, but still intimidating. ????

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
