Does anyone "Tape" ? That's is use a tape measure to take your measurements weekly or monthly in addition to stepping on the scale?

I'm going to start taping this weekend. I weigh on Sunday's so I will also start taping just so I can watch that also. Past experience has taught me that sometimes the scale may not move but the measurements do!

I take measurements monthly, but haven't really tracked them all consistently.

Save yourself some frustration and get one of these:

Body calipers are also a good way to check. There are going to be stalls, especially when you start adding in more exercise and this is a great way to keep motivated and check your progress.

i print out a simple template and measure once a month on the same day as my surgery (the 17th). Then I track it on myfitnesspal, so now I have a graph that shows me how I'm doing. Here's the template I use http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sM8NcfUuc9A/TsFn1qtspVI/AAAAAAAABMk/xBlJwkk7xvw/s1600/Measurements+Sheet.png

i know it says before and after but i just use the sheet for two months, cross out the before and after and just write which month it is that I'm recording. I have found it to be pretty comforting to see how things are moving. :D

I took measurements once a month and tracked them in a spreadsheet while I was losing weight.

That's awesome! I emailed it to myself so I can print it tonight....

Early on I measured monthly. I have not measured in a few months. The exception to that is my calves. I ride horses and keep thinking I will buy new tall riding boots. Riding boots come as slim, regular, wide and sometime plus. Each manufacturer uses a different measurement for each category.

I measure my calves periodically and then look at all the brands and their size charts. I haven't quite pulled the trigger yet. Mostly because I now actually have lots of choices when before there were only a few boots that would fit my fat calves.

I took measurments when I started. I don't check them often, but it is actually cool to see that when the scale isn't moving for some reason things are shrinking still. It is also super gratifying to see that my waist is 8 inches smaller!

I have all of my measurements on a spreadsheet- I recorded them at every 10 pound loss point and I took pictures at every 10 pounds. It's really helpful when you're about halfway to goal and you feel discouraged to look back and visually see how far you've come.

I don't measure often, but I am to the point that I really need to because I have body dysmorphia and I cannot tell that I've lost any weight when I look in the mirror. I still look the same to me visually, so by measuring, and weighing on the scale, I find it is helping my mind understand that I am changing.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
