NWWLS in Seattle, anyone?

Recommended Posts

Hi, has anyone has their sleeve done at NWWLS in Everett? I originally scheduled with them cause I was planning to self pay and they were cheaper than other places. Since my consultation on 12/21, we've been looking to see if insurance will cover it. Anyway, I haven't been having the best experience with them so far and was just wondering if anyone else had a good/bad experience? If insurance ends up covering it, I'm considering going somewhere else.

I originally had my lapband at NWWLS with Dr Michaelson. I had a good experience, he even waived his fee when my band slipped and had to have an emergency removal. He is the only doctor that I ever dealt with. You should do whatever you feel is right for you. If you're not getting the warm fuzzies with them then go elsewhere.

Thanks for the reply. Did you do a sleeve or anything once you had the band removed or just had it removed? If the former, did you go somewhere else for that?

Oh, never mind. I just saw where you said he was the only doctor you've dealt with. I definitely didn't get a bad vibe from him. I just feel that the office is lacking a little in the "customer service" department. Well, appreciate the reply. We'll see where I send up once all of the hoop jumping is complete.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
