Hi there! There is no way to pretty up this topic. When I crushed pills it was just freaking nasty. That's all there is to it. I bought a pill crusher at walgreens. One that you twist the cap and twist until it crushes. About $10. It's about 2-3" in diameter if I remember correctly. I would crush one, pour it in a spoon. I would then add warm broth to spoon and stick in the back of my tongue. to be honest, that lasted about 6 days and I just went to swallowing. They were not huge anyway. At my two week post op appointment, nurse told me to go ahead and swallow them. I didn't tell her I already was.

You could also pour crushed pull over yogurt if you are allowed yogurt.

Did your surgeon tell you that you had to crush them? I was swallowing pills handed to me by the hospital staff day 2 post op.

hey dude

i "think" crushing pills

or cutting in half "might" not be good

loose some potency/effectiveness

not positive (OP please comment)

we all give great answers

but at the end of the day

always only listen to doc/NUT or me :D

good luck with surgery

I take Adderall and it's a extended release and it's a capsule with little balls. Years ago when I has my old surgery lab band which was removed I opened it up and put it in apple sauce, I hope I will be able to do this or just take it whole.

I couldn't swallow big pills, but small normal sized pills were fine.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
