Just curious, I notice people have surgery date October and December. why are they so far out? Is it due to insurance require the physician supervised weight loss. It just seems like a long time to wait with anticipation. I have just had my initial consult on 12/23. There are many medical test that I decided to push to 2016... to push meeting my annual deductible cap in 2016. At what point do you get a surgery date?

I had my initial appt. on 11/11/15, approval 2.5 weeks later, and scheduled for tomorrow, 1/5/16 -- could've gotten in last week, but I chose to wait until 2016. So, in total, it will have taken less than 8 weeks (that included 2 major holidays) for me from start to surgery and could've been done in 7. I think it all depends on the surgeon/clinic and the insurance requirements. I had originally contacted 2 surgeons. The one I went with got me in and all tests done within a few days of my phone call. The other one took 3 weeks to confirm my insurance and return my original call -- I already had a planned surgery date with the other guy by then!

Wow! that is fast...I know I have to do 4 month supervised weight loss before I can get approval but I am happy for some adjustment time but I would like to have the surgery by end of June to allow recover time before I have a vacation "Road trip" planned. Nice thing with road trip...I can pack the car with plenty of grocery supplies.

Just had my first appointment with the Dr. Have to wait till June for surgery. Meet with the dietician on the 26th of this month. My insurance requires a 5 month wait. That's ok since I teach and will have time to recover and adjusting before going back to work.

Where I live it's a 10 year wait. No joke. So needless to say I'm headed to Mexico!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
