I don't think you are a slow loser at all! 50 pounds in 4 months sounds awesome.

It's not a race!

Your body will lose at the rate it decides, not you, not your doctor, not because you've read of others losing tons of weight themselves in a few months. You have your own unique metabolism and there isn't a thing you could do to change it unless you want to screw it up by starving yourself or yo-yo dieting... as long as you are hitting your Protein, calorie, and Water requirements and getting some exercise, you'll get there eventually!

Slow loss is still loss. You should not be putting "only" in front of "lost 50 pounds in 4 months" - 50 pounds lost in 4 months??? That is fantastic and I'd bet most people out there that haven't had weight loss surgery would be amazed if you said that to them...

And don't forget, slower paced weight loss minimizes the issues with saggy, baggy skin. ;)

Keep doing what you can do and get your Protein and Water - you're doing great!

You are a work in progress. Its not how fast you lose weight. Its the fact you are losing weight. :P You already know what to do. Work your program and get out of the surgery what you want.

50lbs in 4 months is a lot consider you started at a lower weight to begin with.

If you want to make a change, stop eating "pretty much anything in small amounts" and just eat Protein and green veggies and see if that helps speed your weight loss. Also replacing one meal a day with a Protein Drink doesn't hurt.

It sounds like you are doing fine, but if you are unhappy about your progress you might want to consider trying a few things.

Tracking your food is critical of you want to make sure you are reaching your nutritional goals.

Are you reaching your Protein target every day?

You say you don't like to drink Water. Are you drinking at least 64 oz of Fluid every day?

Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements as instructed?

Are you exercising.

I have found that focusing on these basic requirements has made following my program pretty easy.

Also, you might want to consider checking in with your NUT to talk about your goals.

Embrace the Stall!

I would be totally psyched if by month 4 I was down 50lbs! I'd say focus on exercising (if you're not already), especially strength training so that even if the weight is not coming off as quickly as you like, you can take comfort in knowing that you are toning and minimizing loose skin.

Thank you.. I still feel defeated.. :( I'm any where close to what I want to be!!

Are we EVER really where we WANT to be?

Our bodies are like our houses ... There is always something to be fixed or tweaked ... but we're never ever truly "done" ...

Once you get the kitchen remodeled ... it's time to do the bathroom ... then once that is done .... time for a new deck ... you get where I'm going ?

As a previous poster said your body will lose in it's own time ... not a race ... and not one person is the sole winner ....

We're ALL winners ... or should I say ... LOSERS !!!! :)

congrats on the loss ... be proud of it ... you've worked at this to earn it ....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
