Revision on 17 Dec - in so much pain

Recommended Posts

I had my revision from band to sleeve on 17 Dec night- the pain is in the band area of the pouch.

I'm day four almost and my pain is deep.

I also see some virginal bleeding with mocus- is that Normal?

I'm also worried about my Fluid intake I seem to be sipping normally little by little but it goes through?

I was a band to sleeve revision done in 2 surgeries. I didn't completely follow your questions...

Where is the pain? Mine was the hole left by the port removal, it was sore, left an empty spot that reminded me of my failure.

When you say the pain is deep, do you mean it is intense or?

Some women are triggered to start a period by surgery. I wouldn't overly stress on that.

I have no idea what you mean about the Water going through...through what? I set baby Water goals those early days....little sips at a time. This is the hardest thing at first, but it gets better.

I had my revision surgery done on Nov. 30th and also woke up in excruciating pain! It lasted about 5 days that intense, and then each day moving forward, it got better. I was beginning to have regrets and was unsure why I had so much burning at the port site when I would sip Water or eat popsicles, but please know that this too shall pass. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since my surgery and I am feeling better and stronger each day. I have lost 25 lbs and the compliments are starting to come in. Lastly, I began experiencing the bleeding 2 weeks and 1 day after surgery and today is day 5! I was never warned about this and was very upset as I have not had a cycle in what would have been 3 years in 3 weeks. I pray you feel better soon and can enjoy the results of your revision surgery:) Stay encouraged.

I had a lot of pain after my revision, especially the large incision where my port resided for 14 years. The pain meds they gave me in the hospital were useless so I never took anything after and was in pain for a while. I had my hand over my incision when walking for the first week or so but I had pain longer than that. Hang in there, its a big surgery and pain is to be expected. Keep sipping. Not sure what you mean that the Water is not going through. Do you mean you don't know if it is going through your sleeve?

Thanks for the feedback that's exactly my case now I move with my hand on the port area - can't sleep on that side either.

The Water : I was worried I had a leak because every sip goes down- and i wasn't sure how much I did drink the first few days but it seemed a lot- yesterday I measured everything coz I was finally home I had about 60oz

That is not a symptom of a leak.

Yes the port pain was miserable and took awhile to resolve. I LOVE not having that thing in me anymore. Hang in there!

The pain is from a hole being left where the port was. Your body fills it up with Fluid trying to heal it and this causes swelling and pressure. Mine even looked like the end of a football sticking out (tiny volcano lol). Thirteen days since my revision surgery and I finally got out of bed without feeling sore this morning.

They really should warn us women about starting a period lol I started my first cycle in two years the morning after surgery in the hospital. The area where my port was hurt for a while as well, hang in there it the pain is worth it!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
