I had my preop appointment earlier in the week and things are starting to get real! I am having a breast augmentation/lift and brachioplasty on Monday, December 28th. The next 10 days are going to fly by with the holidays fast approaching, so I need to make sure I have all my bases covered.

I have;

-made my final payment

-selected my implant size (minimum 400 on my larger side)

-got all my scripts filled

-purchasing button up pajamas

-purchased one large front clasp sports bra

-purchased laxatives

-stocked up on Protein

-purchased six pillows to sleep at a 45 degree angle

-purchase six bags of frozen peas

Still need to get gauze and ace bandages, but what else am I forgetting and/or what kind of advice do you have to offer me?

Honestly, the recovery from breast lift and augmentation is minimal. It shouldn't be too tough. The main thing I hated was having to wear my surgical bra 24/7 for the first 8-10 weeks. You know how when you get home from work at the end of a long rday and you can't wait to take your bra off. Having that feeling 24/7 for weeks on end is NOT pleasant. But really, the pain and discomfort from my breast lift and augmentation was barely a blip on my radar since I had a Tummy Tuck at the same time and that was serious business.

Just make sure you aren't trying to lift anything. Not even a gallon of milk into your shopping cart. Don't hesitate to ask strangers for help in those situations. People are remarkably nice.

You will have a lot of random pain and twinges and sensations from the implants that will take some getting used to.

How exciting! Good luck!

I am headed to the plastic surgeon on the 30th for my first consultation. I am first focused on a brachioplasty.

@@JamieLogical, they did say in my surgeon's office that both have minimal recovery time, which is why I decided to have them done together. I am having surgery on December 28th and am scheduled to go back to work January 4th.

@@Djmohr, you are getting really close to your goal!! My surgery fell into place really fast. I got an itch one day, researched the financing, knew I was off work between holidays and they had an opening, so I went with it. I would like to get my last 8 pounds off before the 28th, but I hurt my back a couple weeks ago and have not been able to exercise for the past two weeks, but oh well, I'll be close :-) Good luck at your consultation!

I am in the same back situation. I have a Schwarnoma (benign tumor) on my T11 nerve root. I have been in excruciating pain since June and have not been able to exercise since. I can walk in short trips and then my back just won't tolerate it. It has definitely caused my weight loss to slow down but sometimes slow and steady wins the race.

I also just found out that I have a torn rotator cuff and severe arthritis of my left shoulder. I see the orthopedic surgeon on the 23rd. I am bummed because I really wanted to get my brachioplasty a sap and now I don't know what is going to happen.

Ugh!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
