Time from Consult to Surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just went to a semiar. They said the average time from today till we would be banded is 5-9 months. I didn't except it to happen very fast, but I was taken aback by that time frame.

How long for everyone else?

Thanks

It only took me a couple weeks. I made all my appointments for asap. And my insurance was awesome about getting everything ok and ready. I couldnt have asked for a quicker or easier waiting period. Good luck to you. And if you stay on top of it maybe it will go faster.

I did some calling around and got my psych eval moved up to this Tues (31st) from September 10th! The lady was laughing because I was so excited!!

The more I investigate this, the more comfortable I become with it and can't wait!

My wife and I meet the doctor last week and he gave us the paper work to have stress test, lung test, psych eval and couple of other items. We go back next month to see him and hope that he sends in the paper work and we can get banded sometime before the end of the year.

:straight For me it seems like a long haul, I first inquired about in Feb. just took a peep at it, nothing serious.I got the nerve to make my first appt. in May it took 2 weeks to get it, it was June 7th I had to do a barage of testing. I had to do 1 nutritional visit, But I did 2, I did 2 sleepstudies because the first one got messed up, Some how,my cardio-stress was post-poned 3x and now the machine is broke it could be up to 2 weeks to get fixed, My physc. eval. took 2 weeks to book as well, and then theirs the pnemonia I had for almost 2 weeks, Then the nutr. accidently typed the wrong paper, and had to redo it , So as of Today....... I just barely had the paper work sent in now the other wait. the insurance has 30 day's to make a decision. and if they say yes yippee, If they say no, we have to appeal, So..so far it's been already awhile to me, The cardio & blood work are last, I didn't need that for the Insurance. Good luck

April 19 - seminar

May 23 - surgery

I would have done it earlier (I was self-pay) but I had to at least go through the motions for the insurance....just in case. Once I determined self-pay it was just a matter of days...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
