I am almost 6 months post op and have not lost weight in a month. I know this is because I have slipped and made terrible choices. Am I alone? Has anyone done the same and successfully got back on track?

Go back to the pre-op diet for a while. Also, increase your exercise. Make sure to cut out the carbs because they will sabotage your weight loss.

Forgive yourself and get back on track. If you need help, make an appointment with your NUT, attend a support group, and/or see a therapist.

Follow your program. Track your food. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as directed, and exercise.

Focus on how far you have come. Do you journal?

Try shaking up your routine: try a new exercise class, a new healthy, high-protein recipe, a new hobby.

Recommit to your program and new lifestyle. It's never too late to get back on track.

Stalls are a normal, necessary, and natural part of the process of losing weight. So are mistakes. You know what works.

Embrace the Stall!

Thank you everyone! I don't journal but I will start. I went to the store last night and stocked up on my Protein. I was running 4 mikes a day 4 days a week but quit about 3 weeks ago. I'm determined I am going to stop hitting snooze and start getting up again! Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone!!!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
