Oh man worst time of year to start the pre op liquids! So sorry to hear that.

But....it can be done. And you will do it.

Wanna know why?

Because this is a great oportunity and you're not gonna screw it up over baked goods or turkey.

That stuff will be back at the next holiday.

It's only this time you will have to be strong.

Although be strong all other times too, but at least you won't be on straight liquids!

You didn't mention why you're having the band out. Is it the first step to a band-to-bypass surgery or something?

Band-to-sleeve?

Or just getting the band out due to issues with it?

You got this.

You can do it.

Just keep having this running thru your head, "it's no big deal. This isn't forever. It's only food. I'd much rather be happier, healthier and no food tastes as good as being fit and thinner feels"

Thank you so much for the encouragement @@heather5565! I had the band for almost 4 years. I only lost 30 lbs pre-op and 20 lbs the first two weeks after surgery. I would constantly spit up food/fluid with the band (filled and unfilled). I am also insulin resistant which doesn't help. I am now 80 lbs over my pre-band weight so I gained all I lost and 80 lbs more. :( It has been a journey. I am now going to have my band out and having gastric bypass. A little bruised and beaten to say the least...

I start my liquid diet on Christmas!! I feel your pain. But...we will make it! Cuz, we want this (need it!) more than a meal we can have next time. I personally think most people would've scheduled around the holidays. To choose health over one last holiday binge says something GREAT about our willpower and mindset! Before you know it, we won't even remember fretting about this!

I was banded 2 weeks before Christmas 2011, I was on liquids before, during and after Christmas , and honestly didn't mind ! A big part of it was that I just wasn't hungry much ( recovering from surgery ) , but the other part was knowing that I was on an exciting journey to get me heathier , happier , and yes, thinner ! I was soooooo ready ! ! So, at Christmas I enjoyed my supportive extended family and Christmas itself, NOT the food . I was not able to see the same relatives until the following Mother's Day, they were thrilled with my 33 lb weight loss ! So was I !! Soooooo, just concentrate on what you CAN get , ( healthy and strong) , and dont dwell on what you can't get ! (Food, that willl still be there next year.....) it was soooo worth it !! ( down 80 ish lbs !!! ) Good luck !!!
