@@Earniece have you tried gas x for the gas pain? I'm so jealous. My clear liquid stage lasts until Thursday morning. Since I have an appointment tomorrow, I am hoping he allows me to move to the full liquid stage so I can have a better variety.

@@kiba78 yes I'm on the gas x strips and doing plenty of walking. The hospital called today to check on me and told me to try the heating pad on my shoulders. Also took a backwards shower to help relax my back and shoulder muscles

Me too! Its interesting though ...i felt a twinge of hunger today & got nervous. ...but as soon as i drank some liquid Protein i was good. I'm excited to move to mushy foods soon..ask i cab think about is avocados, chickpeas, and cottage cheese lol

The more you walk, the faster the gas l leave your body. I have almost no gas pain. ...

@barbie1978. I'm making it. I have to remind myself multiple times a day. I went to gnocchi yesterday and was able to get the clear isoprene drinks. They were on sale buy one get on 50% off. I am on the clear liquid diet for a week. Then I will move to a full liquid diet. I'm hungry. I'm reminding myself about why I am doing this. I see my doctor tomorrow. Hopefully he will allow me to move on. My incisions are itching. I think I may get Greek yogurt also.

This stage is the worst part...but something that has helped is ice from Dairy Queen or coffee bean. ...it's the small crushed ice pieces are softer & satisfies the urge to crunch/chew!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
