How long did it take you to lose the last 10-15 lbs?

The last 10-15 lbs are coming off very slowly, how about you?

I'm 15 months out and decided I wanted to go 10 pounds below goal. I hit 150 at 12 months out, and have 1 or 2 more pounds (depending on the day) to go! So it's taken me about 3-4 months to get the last 10 off. I'm a super slow loser anyway ;)

81 pounds in three months...Wow! nothing slow about that. :)

.

The smaller I became...It seemed harder to shake off the last 10-15 pounds to goal.. I'm not sure if it is because we have less fat to burn

Nothing wrong with slow weight loss as long as the scale moves in the right direction.

The last 10-15 I lost came off over about 3-4 months, much slower than the first 130 pounds I lost. I would have liked to have lost another 10, but it never came off, no matter what I did.

I am 6 pounds away from my goal weight but my doctor wants me to lower it by 5 pounds so now I have 11 pounds to lose. Wow has it been SLOOOOOW. I actually just entered my sixth week of a stall that I'm patiently waiting out. I recently increased my exercise and I'm tracking food to make sure I'm getting the right amount of calories. Hoping to see that scale start to move down again.

It's all relative I suppose. My first goal was 150 and I hit that way more quickly than I expected. So then I pushed my goal to 140. Again, hit that easily, so I decided to make my goal 125. Getting there has been more of a struggle. I've been trying for the past year to stay below 130, so I guess the answer to your question would be that it's taken me about a year, but with that being said, I already passed my first two goals, so I don't know if that really "counts" for what you're asking :-)

It was actually since the first of the year, I had to 6 months of insurance waiting and since I was lower in weight I could lose much or get kicked out. I have 5-6 to get off to 140 and then may try a little lower. I am using a rowing machine every day plus ab lounger but it is going so slowly. Thanks for the encouragement and reality all.

My highest weight was 235 lbs.

My surgery weight was 216 lbs.

I reached my goal weight of 150 lbs. at 8.5 months post-op.

During the next 7 months I lost another 12 pounds -- very slowly. I was eating very healthy and quickly got up to an average of 1700 cals/day. So I wasn't trying to diet. But obviously, my metabolism (at least during that time) was higher than I thought it was.

I now weigh 138 pounds. I never expected to lose those last 12 pounds. The question is: Will I be able to maintain at 138 pounds? Honestly, I'd be happy to maintain anywhere under 150 pounds.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
