Very Frustrated!

Recommended Posts

I had RNY on 11/9 and today was my first post op visit. I've only lost 1.9 pounds! I have done everything I can (exercise, Protein intake, water) and this is what I get? The Doctor isn't concerned but it's disheartening to see such a small number considering all that I've given up. Very discouraged right now.

I wonder if I need a few more calories as I only take in about 450 day. I see the nutritionist next week and hopefully she can help me figure this out. My Doctor said sometimes the weight loss can be slow up to 3 months out. He said that I will plateau for a week or two then drop 5 pounds in a day and that it is not necessarily a steady decline.

Stay calm. It is common to take a few weeks before you begin to lose weight. Your body is in a major heal mode and allowing it to heal is the prime goal at 10 days post-op. For one thing most patients gain weight while they are in the hospital because they are pumping fluids into you. So you have to first lose this added weight before you begin to see a weight loss.

So stay calm, follow the directions (meal volume, Protein, fluids and vitamins), relax and let the magic happen.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
