Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

I just might be a little too tight! I went in for a fill on Friday, it's now Tuesday and I have lost 5lbs! It doesn't hurt to eat, but I accidently went 8 hours and didn't eat OR drink anything. I was out shopping at the malls and just didn't think about it until I went into Jareds(jewelry store) and I was offered a bottle of Water. I then looked at my watch and realized that I hadn't taken any Vitamins, had any water or had anything to eat! I was mortified! My band is so tight that when I went in I was hungry to the point that my stomach was growling, but when she filled me, I instantly felt full! I know this is going to sound crazy but I could feel tightness in my chest area when she put in the extra saline. Could this be? I mean, I almost got a little scare at the feeling of feeling like something was being closed off! Was I supposed to feel like this? Anyway, to make a long story short, I'm tight…. As tight as a bandster can be and I don't know if I should feel good about this or not. I'm going to give it a few more days and see if anything negative happens and if not, I'm going to leave it the way it is. I don't even think about eating now and I like that. I feel too full to think about food. Is it natural to feel like I've just eaten at the buffet, when I've only had a teaspoon of this and a teaspoon of that? This full feeling last all day! It's like I have to set a timer for water and vitamins!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Productive Burp. It's when you gack up the contents of your pouch, not stomach. Also when you burp up whatever little food that might be blocking the entrance to your stomach.

Had a fill a week ago tomorrow making it 6cc in a 14 cc band. My question is I'm finding it hard to eat in the mornings now. I was told to try drinking something hot upon arising but this doesn't seem to help alot. Any other suggestions. Farther along in the day I have no problems with eating.

That is very typical when getting to the sweet spot! Try sipping on something in the morning and save your calories for later! wink.gif

Thank you for that answer. I've thought about doing that just needed to hear someone else say it.

hi, so frustrated in Nebraska. I had my lap band surgery 9/17/10 in Denver Co, did not get a fill till October 20 and did not have restriction, think i lost 3 lbs first month and then continued Nov lost 3 and then in dec gained 3 and then Jan lost .2 and got a fill. I have a realize 14cc band and in Jan i was at 9.8 and still having hunger issues. I have followed the Protein first, barely have carbs and do not drink pop, eat sweets and when i went in feb i was down 6 but here is my problem, still having hunger issues and the PA did not want to give me another fill becuz she said i really was at the top of what they like to put in the band and so she wanted me to do an UGI to see if my esophagus was stretched. Has anyone else experienced this, i convinced her to give me another fill so she filled me to 10,2 and indicated i will not get another. I was at 320 when i started and now 5 months later down a whole 20, i seem to always get to 300 on a diet and cannot get any lower. I am so disappointed in myself but i keep trying to figure out what i am doing wrong, i gave up eating all those things to only lose 20 lbs, have i maybe still not hit my sweet spot? Help any suggestions???

Wow! Sounds like you have done very well. You have lost a lot of weight in under a year. Your body may be catching up. If you feel you can eat over a cup of food and you are getting hungry more often then you probably do need a fill. Congratulations on coming so far and don't get discouraged. You will reach your goal!

I had my lap band surgery on March 24, 2011. I had it done in Phoenix, AZ. I am in CA working as a camp host for the summer and I need a fill. I cannot find anyone who will take my insurance or is low enough for me to pay cash without joing their group. Does anyone out there have any information for me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
