Hey guys! I am new here. I had my robotic gastric bypass 10/6/15 and all went well. My highest weight was 250 lbs (BMI 44) and I hovered around this weight for a good five years. I was extremely unhappy with my appearance, I had no energy and became short of breath easily with exertion, the knee pain was excruciating at times. I adopted a son almost two years ago and was determined to become healthier for my family and myself. After yo yo dieting since the second grade (yes my first diet was when I was eight years old), I finally had enough and realized I needed help. I spoke with my PCP, expressed interest in the gastric sleeve and she referred me to our local hospital's obesity treatment center. I had all my appointments, stuck to a low carb 1200 calorie/day diet and exercised for an hour every single day, sometimes more! The weight came off much quicker then expected (which had happened before, but I could never keep it off). When I finally met my weight loss requirement I was cleared to have surgery and I ended up changing my mind and having gastric bypass instead due to a long discussion with my surgeon. I am three weeks out now and am down a total of 57 lbs so far. I would like to lose about another 63 lbs. I didn't realize how much I had physically changed until I recently had to buy a new dress for a wedding I am going to and I placed it side by side with a picture of myself at another wedding in 2011. I almost started crying. I am on track to getting my life back.

I have stayed about the same recently and have realized I need to pick up my exercise and start really measuring food like I did in the beginning.

I had my surgery on Oct 28, 2015. I don't feel like I'm losing enough. I've only lost around 15 pounds since surgery. I'm worried that is not enough up

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
