Before surgery the only way I knew how to switch things up on a diet was to increase carb levels to shock my system. I am not going to add carbs to my system. So when you say add something or shock your system, what do you guys do to do that so I can break out of this plateau that I've been at for the past week or two? By carbs I mean BAD CARBS .... Please don't anyone freak out... I have fruit & veggies.... Yes I get good carbs... No I don't eat bread or rice or toast or crackers etc, & won't. ????????thanks everyone ????????????????

Google intermittent fasting, and carb cycling and see if you think one of those or a combo might work.

I found added carbs is a good thing. My personal trainer was trying to convince me and I was stubborn like you. Then I finally listened and it worked! Go figure!

Have you tried switching up your exercise routine? Add intervals, lift heavier weights, change the activity you're doing and/or the frequency and intensity. Try a different routine.

When I stall I push the fluids and the Proteins, lessen the calories & carbs/sugars, increase my walking and go back to basics. This seems to help. After 6 mos it isn't a drastic weight loss like before though so if I continue to lose a pound or 2 a week I am happy. It is when the scale stoos moving altogether that I really switch it up.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
