I started walking a mile five days post-op. I started Yoga for beginners three weeks post-op and this week I will start Water aerobics, I am currently six weeks post-op.

Every plan is different.

You can began walking immediately, and then increase your type of workout as directed by your doctor.

I'm 12 weeks out. I use a treadmill, bike, and elliptical. I've also been swimming and take a yoga class.

Were you sore from the walking I am one week out. I walked 2 miles yesterday and my body was sore today I honestly thought it was from all the laying around so I went out and did another 2 miles today and I am even more sore.

I was walking 3 miles everyday up till my surgery so I'm not so sure why it's so hard now

I was walking 7-10 miles a day pre-op. The day after surgery, I was bored in the hospital so I did laps. 12600 steps. My surgeon, came up that evening and we were talking and I showed him my fitbit and he showed me his, 9900 steps. We shared a good laugh. Day two in the hospital was worse, as I was even more bored, so I did 14500 steps. It was actually kinda funny, the other patients thought there was something wrong with me.

Since getting out of the hospital, life has not been kind, I've only done a 6 mile walk twice, and I toned my pace way down, because more or less everyone I knew was screaming at me to slow down.

Yesterday at the two week post op check in, all restrictions were lifted, sans 20 pound lifting limit and that goes away in two weeks. I built a gym in my spare room, I am looking forward to starting weight training along with walking and eventually running once I lose enough weight.

I was walking right away. I think I was doing everything but weights once I was four weeks out. Weights I think i started around 6-8 weeks out.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
