Had my 5th NUT visit today NOW it gets crazy

Recommended Posts

I had my 5th Nut visit today and everything went great. I only lost 2 more pounds but she said I had actually gained muscle so she was happy!

That makes 32 pounds down on my own. She told me I passed my pysch eval with flying colors. Now things start getting crazy because I am shooting for surgery in December so now I have the following scheduled:

PET SCAN - Nov 2nd 8:30 a.m

UPPER ENDOSCOPY Nov 3rd 6:00 a.m.

Visit with Cardiologist Nov 5th 9:30 a.m.

Last Nut Visit Nov 16th 10:00 a.m.

Dexxa Scan Nov 16th 11:00 a.m

And if all goes well with my PET (Heart) Scan and Upper Endoscopy they should be able to submit on Nov 17th!!!!!

The problem is that I also have a job. Thank goodness I have been saving up my PTO.

On both of those days you have multiple appts stacked up, do something fun and nice for yourself - get a pedicure, or a massage, or buy yourself flowers. They're all steps you're taking to take care of YOU.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
