Hi! I am using Dr. Victor Gonzalez in Dallas. He and his staff are very caring and knowledgable. I am getting my EGC Friday and being cleared by cardiologist today. I have scheduled surgery for Nov. 17.

I live in west Texas, about 5 hours away. My insurance does not have an in network Dr. closer than Dallas so I had to go to the Dallas area. I did a lot of research and calling Drs. in the area and decided on Dr. Gonzalez. I really like him :)

Each doctor usually has a seminar you need to attend. I attended his, and he actually did it himself, him and an expert on nutrition. I really learned a lot. I actually was dead set on lap band, but after speaking to someone there that had had lap band, and hearing how great the sleeve has been, I decided to get the sleeve.

Let me know if I can answer anything else for you. My email address is midlandrhonda@gmail.com

My husband and I live in Wichita Falls but came to Dallas for surgery. We used Dr. Jayaseelan at Dallas Bariatric Center. We loved him and his staff. Our surgeries were 13 months ago and neither one of us have had any problems. He's lost 100 pounds and surpassed his goal and I've lost 128 so far. I highly recommend Dr. Jay.

imsoglad56,

Did you or your husband have hair loss? That is a big concern for me.

I'm in Fort Worth and I used Dr Adam Smith. I'm only a few weeks post-op but I've had no problems at all. I would recommend him.

He did not. My hair thinned some, but not too bad. It's thickening back up now.

Wow! Thank you all for the GREAT suggestions, I really appreciate them. :) I've been researching and I thought about Dr. Louis Fox but I haven't made any appointments. I just signed up for my employers insurance which happens to be BCBSIL, so I'm just waiting for my insurance card. Would anyone happen to know the approval process for BCBCIL, is there a 6 month supervised diet? Any information would be helpful.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
