I'm in so much discomfort right now. Been on prescription NSAIDs for 5 years for severe Fibro. Going cold turkey. Surgery in two weeks. Tylenol just isn't cutting it. Then I learn I have to change another staple med I have because it's an ER form but they don't make a non ER release form so my Dr needs to find a new/compatible med real fast. Shitz getting real

@@Tina1969 I went through Mayo's Pain Rehab a year ago because I have chronic pain due to a nerve condition called Thalamic Pain Syndrome. I have it as a result of a stroke I had 11/27/13. I'm on Gabapentin and Lyrica. They both come in liquid form. Have you ever been on either of them? I'm in 24/7 pain even with the meds but I can't imagine if I wasn't on them. They're actually membrane suppressants and not pain killers but I know Lyrica works for my best friend who has Fibro. Just an idea.

Lyrica comes in liquid form?!? I've been off my Lyrica for 6 weeks now and had been doing pretty well but I've started a fibromyalgia flare and it really sucks because Tylenol doesn't even touch it. Time to put in a call to my rheumatologist! :P

@@Tina1969, hope everything works out for you. I know living with fibro is no fun at all. The one thing that has helped me (until this flare) is that my rheumatologist prescribed a cream for me. It has a combination of things in, one being high dosage NSAID but since it's not ingested my bariatric surgeon said it's not a problem. I can't give you the name of it as it is made patient specific so there really isn't one. It's made by a place called Transdermal Therapeutics if that helps in talking to your rheumatologist. Good luck!

I'm thrilled to hear Lyrica comes in liquid! It helps my fibro like nothing else. Yay!!!

I also have a prescription for a cream. It is compounded by the pharmacy each time I refill. It is great for arthritis in my knee and for fibro.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
