I'm no longer losing anymore weight. I'm a month post op I hardly eat and not because I'm not hungry but because anything I eat makes my stomach hurt.. chicken, tuna, cheese you name it. I started at 195 now I'm 175. I honestly don't see much of s change. I went through all that pain to lose 20 lbs. I could've gone to weight washers. I'm so regretting doing this.

You are only 1 month post op. 20 lbs lost is good. Give yourself some time. It does not come off overnight. Read the posts in this forum. Most people go through stalls and then start losing again. Your body is adjusting to the new normal.

  • Do a search on 3 week stall.
20lbs in one month is good. You can try eating slower. I mean snails pace slower, sometimes that helps the tummy readjust to eating food again. You can also try taking a step back and doing one shake and/or Soup a day instead. Are you on a PP? Sometimes the acid generated to breakdown food makes the tummy uncomfortable.Have you called your nutritionist or doctor to discuss this? Also keep in mind lower BMI's often lose at a slower pace. Step away from the scale if it making you crazy. Seriously pack it away for a few months and just focus on following the program.

Just last week I told my husband that while the scale was telling me I'm down and I'm wearing clothes I haven't been able to wear in a very long time, I just didn't see it. People say they're seeing it but I just haven't yet. I have to wonder if I'll ever see myself as anything but fat. Don't know yet - check back with me in a few months. ;)

I'm 5.5 weeks out and I'm stalled. Lost 47 pounds (26 since surgery) and then at 4.5 weeks, just stopped losing. It's very common. Doesn't make it any less discouraging I know! I've been jumping on the darned scale every day to see if it's over yet - I have to take a step back and just let it go for awhile. It will happen. I have faith in it.

So, right now I'm looking at other positive things rather than getting hung up on that number - I'm eating less. *grins* I've got more energy than I've had in a long time. My diabetes meds have been significantly reduced.

You're not alone. Hang in there!

I am 4 weeks out and at about 21/2 weeks, I had lost 31 pounds then BAM 13 day stall! So frustrating, BUT NORMAL. It felt fantastic to finally move past that mark today. HANG IN THERE!

You are just in the first of many stalls to come.

As a low BMI you will lose a lot at first and then slowly from then on out.

What I did was to record any lower weight on my fitness pal. That's it. Never an increase. If it went up oh well. Only the downs.

I know you don't want to hear that right now, but you have days, weeks and months to come of weighing in and it might just drive you crazy.

I started at 192. I reached goal at 9 months at 138 and today at 16 months I'm at 126. I'm maintaining here between 128 and 126 every morning depending on how my body is feeling.

I haven't done an exercise routine. Just what I get with my job and family. Not much. I have great restriction and I don't record my daily intake any longer.

Yes, I followed the rules 110% and worked my program to reach goal. I now know what I can and can't eat and drink without measuring every time.

Message me if you need some extra encouragement. You are not failing and your body didn't stop working!!!

Chin up. I had MANY days of what did I do, and I can't eat another, and will I ever feel normal again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
