This is a good question!

I've been wondering about this.

Since we're not supposed to drink with our meals bc it'll wash the food out, causing us to eat more, wouldn't the same thing happen with puréed Soups and Protein shakes?

Protein Shakes wouldn't cause you to feel full?

liquids do not wash food out of your stomach, they actually fill you up, therefore you are unable to eat as much at that particular setting. So, the less food you are able to eat, the less nutrients you absorb.

That's not true for sleeve patients. It's one of the main reasons why we have to separate eating and drinking in the early stages.

What is a good unflavored Protein Powder?

There are several; Isopure, GENEPRO, Syntrax nectar (I think) and Unury to name just a few. I personally like Isopure, but taste buds and palates vary.

I was told liquids wash food out and to never drink while eating..

Interesting that your reaction to liquids is different.

I'll be having surgery in a few months.. Don't have a date yet.. So we shall see ????

Yes, which applies to sleeve and bypass and when you think about it, it only makes sense. If you have for example a 4 ounce stomach and you drink three ounces of Water, that leaves one ounce of room for nutrient rich food and then your full. Water does not just run through your system, sure it does not have to be digested like food, but it don't just disapear in a matter of minutes, so it takes up room.

I am almost 4 years out and to this day, and I keep trying, I cannot eat Soup without it coming back up. I think I've finally given up on soup. No matter how thick I make it, I can't keep it down ????

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
