It WAS really steady, 8-12lbs a month till I hit 6months. I've been eating low carb, totally on my plan...but I'm just stuck. Actually stuck at 234 for 2 months. It's so frustrating! I know I need to do more workouts/weight training.

Wow! Linzlou2000! We have similar start weight and body shape. I am just starting this journey (although docs are expecting an Oct surgery date) and I hope to be as successful as you. What was the rate of loss for you? Start slow or fast? Any major stalls? Any funky stuff you want to share about the Sleeve?

I'm still considering bypass or sleeve.

Thanks!

I did lose some before surgery. Here is what I keep in my phone and you can see my rate. Another member shared her progress and laid it out like this and I loved it. Progress:

October (252) - November (232): -20

November (232) - December (222): -10

December (222) - January (214): -8

January (214) - February (203): -11

February (203) - March (191): -12

March (191) - April (183): -8

April (183) - May (175): -8

I track from the 19-18 of each month since that was my surgery date.

I have had stalls and it stresses me out. However, when you look at the month as a whole I've been pretty steady. Things are getting harder. I track and work out 2-4 times a week. I have had ZERO problems with the Sleeve. If anything, I wish I had a little more restriction. It is a huge mental game, but I'm going to win. I started at a 22-24. I now fit comfortable in 14 and am starting to buy 12's.

I work out 2-4 days a week. Usually the treadmill or elliptical with some strength/weights. I also try to attend one work out class a week.

I'm 5'5.

Best wishes. I'm so glad I did this!

Jenetts,

Keep us posted on your progress! How are you doing with the pre-op diet? What's your program? Are you doing sleeve or bypass?

Here is an old picture of me from 2008. I am 2 lbs away from this weight. Its been a great week of receiving compliments. Ive had so many people tell me how beautiful I am and tell me that they see that Ive lost weight. When I was this weight, I didnt get a whole lot of compliments but now this time around... I am. It really feels nice getting compliments. Im not a person that seeks attention nor will I ever be but was always the beautiful "heavy" friend that everyone loved. Now, Im the beautiful friend that everyone compliments. It's a great feeling. I will post a current picture when I have someone to take a pic of me. Im horrible at selfies. Im 40 lbs from meeting my goal weight!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
