8 week stall/need recommendations

Recommended Posts

I seem to be on an 8 week stall. Anyone else experience this and how did you break it. I have been losing weight so slowly as it is, now on a 3 day stall. Tried increasing Protein, increasing calories, and increasing carbs, but nothing working. any suggestions would be helpful, thanks

3 days without weight loss is completely normal. It isn't a stall until it lasts 10 days. If you are confident you are following your program correctly, just keep doing what you are doing. You may want to avoid the scale for a few weeks if it is stressing you out ^_^

Are you eating on plan? Do you weigh and measure your food? Do you eat a Protein forward diet? When you eat, do you eat your protein first and then move on to your veggies/sides, or do you eat a bite of this and a bite of that?? How much are you eating? When I was where you are now, I was eating 2-3oz of protein with little room for much else. At 16 mos post surg I can eat 4oz of most dense Proteins and 1/4 cup of veggies and that's about it. I still weigh and measure everything I eat. How about liquids? Are you getting all your Water in. Fluids are super important. I was a slow loser, but sticking to plan I've lost 130 lbs. Stick to the program and you'll continue to lose!

You can't expect to lose weight every day. Weighing yourself everyday is going to make you crazy. Pick a time once a week, and weigh yourself at that time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
