I've got my Date Oct. 19, Anyone close to that?

Just wondering if there is anyone in the area(Michigan) who had a date close to mine or anyone in general for that matter that we could help each other out along the way :-) Its getting to the last few weeks and my nerves are starting to get to me.

Yay, I finally found a Protein drink that works for me which I'm stoked about because its been a long 6 mos trying all the different brands and flavors.

Is it strange that I made sure to up my life insurance policy just in case something bad happens, for some reason I am only thinking of the bad and not the good that can come out of this! Suggestions?

Thanks!

@@Barb5000 --I was sleeve Monday 10/19

I'm okay. When I woke up in recovery I was in a lot of pain, but the nurses got right on it. I had some time to come out of it then went for my swallow test. No problems there and started on water. Once I had water and walked they sent me on my way. My surgery was outpatient. My biggest complaint the day of the procedure was my throat! Holy moly it hurt, but it was better by the next day. I haven't had problems with water or protein. Yesterday I got 70oz in and 75g of protein. Everyday is easier! The biggest concern I have is the big incision next to my belly button. It is extremely painful. Like brought me to tears yesterday. Other than that it's be okay.

I'm feeling depressed. I never knew how attached to food I really was, is this just a stage and is anyone else feeling down I just feel weak and sad but I keep telling my self it'll get better!

on Saturday night I could NOT stop crying. The food separation is hard but honestly I think a lot of it is hormonal. Just remind yourself that your hormones and body are out of whack, so what you're feeling isn't really real!! That's helped me, anyways.

For the most part I feel good, yesterday was the first day I was really up and about outside and it was good, although did make me a little sore and tired. First day back at the office is tomorrow, hopefully I don't fall asleep at my desk!

Am I the only one dealing with intense incision pain?!? ???? seriously after 10 minutes of walking, I'm in pain!

I noticed if I stand too long my incisions start to bother me but it's not intense. Kind of just feels like pressure on them but once I sit it pretty much goes away.

Does anyone get a yucky taste in the mouth?

My swelling is going down in my belly. But now I have the menstrual cycle from hell. I was going to try to go to work tomorrow , I'm thinking Wednesday maybe a better option .

Keep in good spirits , there is light at the end of this tunnel

Yes!!!! I'm calling my MD tomorrow. I think it is from the Pepcid! It's metallic and horrible. Plus I need to share about my incision pain! I can't imagine trying to work tomorrow with this incision pain ????

yes!! i have a bad taste in my mouth, especially when i wake up, and my teeth feel a little... fuzzy. AND my husband says my breathe is horrible!! Apparently the breathe is from the ketosis from the very low carbs, maybe the rest is too?

Okay October I have two capsules but I got a suggestion for one I would try but the b50 complex. How do u take it. It taste horrible like really really bad how can I get it down supposedly too early to swallow capsule and the digestion breakdown hoopla but I need help with that one

Hello all,

I had the sleeve surgery on 22OCT15 and recovery has been good so far, 5 days out and feel pretty good. I've been getting my liquids in as planned. Tonight was the first night I craved something different. I saw some others post about cottage cheese this early in recovery and wanted to get your feedback. Ok or not ok?

Thanks for sharing your stories this is my first time posting as I've been (as my wife calls) creeping on this app for a couple of days enjoying the info and haven't shared or asked any questions, so I thought I'd ask about cottage cheese as I was "hangry" tonight for something different.

Each surgeon has his/her own diets and timelines for advancing. My surgeon requires 2 weeks liquids, 2-4 weeks mushies, then soft/full.

So I can't have cottage cheese until purée per my MD. Did your MD not spell out his/her expectations?

Short answer---I have to wait until my 2 week check up.

Thanks for the reply. Yes he did spell it and it's the same as your plan. I didn't know if if I was misinterpreting my full liquid requirements.

Thanks again

I started back at work this week. Today I finally got in all 60 grams of protein!!! I feel like all I do is eat/drink. Surgeon was right when he said it is like a full time job at first.

2 week post op is Friday. Hopefully they will take me off liquids then and allow me to add in purees.

I feel freaking fantastic! I keep getting compliments on how I am just "glowing" since my surgery.

I still can't believe I am on the other side. It still seems a bit surreal.

I hope ya'll are having blessed weeks!!
