That's exactly what i was told by my surgeon. After the band the most successful wls is bypass. I had wanted the sleeve but she told me it's restrictive like the band. She suggests the best option is malabsorbtive... of that's the right spelling lol

My liquid diet starts December 7th. Currently struggling to lose a few pounds before then due to my band being almost empty : ( And Thanksgiving didn't help...

My hospital has this amazing Protein supplement line. Each pack can be mixed with Water and has 200 calories. They have Soups, drinks, puddings, and most are delicious! The good thing is that they have all daily vitamins/minerals needed. I'm not sure where else they can be purchased but check out New Direction Weight Control System. The hot cocoa and lemon pudding are amazing!

@@phatfatgirl How was your pain post-op? I'm having the band revised to bypass and also having my gallbladder removed! Getting very nervous and have already started having dreams/nightmares about it! Is weight loss slower with revision?

I'm OK. I had a rough cpl days in the hospital because i had had a small cold before surgery. So i had a bit of phlegm. After surgery i had bad retching and nausea. Lasted about 3 days but eventually went home. Pain was never really bad just sore, felt like i was punched and kicked in the stomach. But all good. My weight loss has been better now than when i had the band. Day of surgery on Nov 16th i Was 332lbs as of today I'm 303. I'm proud of it.

I have had my band for exactly 9 years as of yesterday and I had an upper gi done yesterday due to issues with dysphagia, severe acid reflux and weight gain. Four weeks ago my surgeon removed 1cc of Fluid and that has helped with the acid reflux severity at night but hasn't gotten rid of it entirely. I had no restriction and gained 15 pounds in 4 weeks ???????? However yesterday at my appointment after my upper gi, my doctor told me my band looks good but I have a small flap that could be considered a small slip but it's not too much to worry about yet and that my pouch is asymmetrical and bigger than it should be. He said that we are going to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or I don't lose any weight more weight that we may look into a revision. He suggested a sleeve since my bmi is "low" (my bmi is 40). Wouldn't I qualify for bypass since I have co-morbidalities? (Sp) I'm so afraid of surgery now that I'm older but I'm also afraid of gaining all this weight back. I lost 80 pounds but I've gained 35 back just in the past few months

Change doctors!A small slip???Either it has slipped or not...I am like you but with many more health problems."Get worse"????Why would you wait for it to do more damage???

A 40 BMI is not low are you kidding. It is morbidly obese.I have A 38 by I.I am morbidly obese.Ser another surgeon.Get at least a second opinion.I have major damage due to the band...seeking a revision to bypass.Get a surgeon that is supportive.

That is what I said too! How can it be a small slip? And a bmi of 40 is not low! The thing is that this is my new doctor because my original doctor moved to another state! I just feel like crap and wish he would just do something already

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
