Insurance approval?

Recommended Posts

I have my 2nd doctor's appointment on 9/30. I have completed my psych evaluation, have the approvals from my primary doc and cardiologist and have seen the nutritionist. My question is, how long does it take for the insurance approval? and when would the surgery be scheduled for?

I was told by my surgeon that it usually takes about 2 weeks. I have seen some sooner and some later. But 2 weeks seems about average.

The actual approval took less than a week for me. But my insurance is behind on modern day tech and sent my approval letter in the mail to the hospital. I actually ended up getting the approval letter first so I emailed it to them.

It also depends on how far out your surgeon is booked. Some programs just have one or two surgeons, so if they are busy it might be 6 weeks or more out. If there's a lot of surgeons, my program has 4, so my survey date was about a month out. It also depends if you have to have a liquid diet before surgery. I have a two week liquid diet so that's another factor on time.

My surgery is 12 days away!!!

Best of luck!

My insurance denied the first time because my Surgeons office left out some important documents, but then we resubmitted on 9/4 and I got my approval yesterday. Like, Lose it Kacy said it, i think it depends on how many surgeons are there.. I am actually having surgery next Thursday (9/24), but I think it's partly because of the size of the practice and I had everything finished a while ago.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
