I was sleeved on March 12 and I have lost 57 pounds since jan 2015. I know I should have lost more but I am eating the wrong foods and not counting my Protein. I've been very bad. I want to start back on track but food is my enemy. Any advice on how to get back on track and eat the right way?

From what I've read, I would start back in a Protein shake diet for a week or two and then go from there. Stay away from starchy and carb filled foods. Sugary drinks. You can do this, just remember why you had the surgery in the first place.

Also 57 lbs is great! Don't give up too easily.

Agreed with @Rocket. 57 pounds is great now dig in. Get back to basics and get rid of temptation that might be around. Log everything and measure to the ounce. You've got this!! Good luck!

@@paulatoney several of my friends have hit some serious stalls and the frustration is understandable. First, I would have a chat with your doctor and Secondly, I would talk with your dietitian. The common thing that I've heard is, try going back on your pre-op diet and then slowly advance to your weekly diet plans of liquids, full liquids, pureed, soft foods. This longer process helps to reset your metabolism and weight loss. As others have said... stay away from the things you KNOW are bad from you! Good luck on your continued journey!

You can't expect to be perfect all the time. Acknowledge the slip up, learn from it, and start fresh. This is a tool. You still have to work out your inner demons to be successful. All of us have been using food as a crutch, which is how we got to this place, and now your crutch has been taken away. The demons remain and you have to find a new way to deal with them.

Take a deep breath, reflect on what you were feeling when you started reaching for poor food choices, resolve to make better decisions RIGHT NOW, and go for a walk or hit the gym today. Face those demons head on.

I agree with @@defibvt's advice to restart the preop diet and move forward again.

I was sleeved March 9, 2015 and my story sound exactly like yours! Omg first year lost 75 then got off track and gain 30!!! Well Feb 15th I got back on the wagon..I weigh my food, exercising, making sure I get my Protein in even if I have to drink 2 Protein Shakes a day, forcing the Water in, making better food choices....if I get a snack attack I grab a few grapes or sugar free no fat fudgescicle or popsicle..... We gotta get the mind right...I even bought a mini trampoline that I can use when I don't make it to the gym.....Also I refuse to beat myself up and waddle in self pity...I know what I need to do and if I want to achieve it I gotta fight for it....I have no time to waste on what I should have done or what I didn't do cause that useless for me now....my mind Is like Nike Just Do It!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
