I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. PPO

My question is do I have to have had a BMI of 40 or higher for the past 5 years?

Here is my weight and bmi history (I am 5'3):

2010-

Weight: 161 lbs BMI: 28.5 Over Weight

2011-

Weight 198 lbs BMI 35.1 Obese Class 2

2012-

Weight 232 lbs BMI 41.09 Morbid Obesity

2013-

Weight 205 lbs BMI 36.31 Obese Class 2

2014-

Weight 197 lbs BMI 34.89 Obese Class 1

2015 *current*-

Weight 250 lbs BMI 44.28 Morbid Obesity

Will I still be able to get the surgery with this weight history? I'm so confused on this.

You would actually have to ask your insurance company the specifics but I am guessing as long as you show that history of obesity you will likely qualify. Do you have any comorbitities like diabetes my high blood pressure, high cholesterol or sleep apnea?

Those will help as well.
