Work Meetings always planned for lunchtime I hate this!

Recommended Posts

I planned poorly still on puree and forgot to stop fluids in time to eat before this 1130 to 1pm meeting. They ordered Chinese and all so they can play games and talk before the meeting. Would be nice to be on real food now so no one would ask about my puree and small quantities. Today I will have to tough it out. Don't let this happen to you. It's a bummer. Messes up my liquid intake schedule still only get about 30 oz per day.

I survived the food they ordered was late so they started the meeting it was only 30 minutes. I left when everyone got up to get there food. Hooray!

Maybe bring a Protein shake to those meetings so you can "eat" with them?

I suggest that people not be afraid to talk to the person ordering and/or catering the food. It's perfectly acceptable to let them know about any special dietary needs.

One of the girls brought her lunch and now that I will move into my solid food phase I will do this. She brought tuna salad. I will do that! I actually like bringing my food from home. This way i am never disappointed and my order is never wrong. That happened to one of the girls that day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
