Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

Sorry I meant drink with food.

It's really scary initially to vomit, hiccup or disrupt belly in any way.

I would think 5 min is enough.

I know we cant drink and eat i meant try to drink something before we try to eat. Wait the 30min after drinking then attempt to eat.

Sorry.

No need to apologize. I was just curious if anyone knew. Thought it would be good to know. I've read how when you do stay introducing new foods you can get sick. I just want to be prepared

My doctor said if you get really sick off some thing new then go back to your liquids for 24 hours to give your time to rest. Hope this helps! !

The scale finally moved in the right direction today!!! Not much of a move but I'll take it!!!!

I go back to see my surgeon today, would have been my 3 week followup, still kind of is, since he did open me up and I am still healing from that.

I will hopefully find out today if he is willing to do the sleeve on me, since the RNY fell through... fingers crossed!

I'm one week out and going crazy. I'm very weak. Don't want to sip ever again. I know I'm dehydrated. Went 6 hours without drinking yesterday. Just slept. Boy did I pay for that one. So bored too.

How do you guys keep your energy up?

In the beginning you feel like you don't want to do anything but deep down you know you have to. I would go to the store, just for little things Powerade zero or Vitamin Water zeros but enough for one day so I could do it again the next day. You feel better when you start moving more. You will get short of breath fast but take your time, it isn't a race. Your body is stronger than you initially think. Maybe even getting up to walk up and down a hallway or from room to room if the store feels like too much.

I walked in the mall 3 days post op it took a lot out of me but I felt better. As far as sipping goes I think it's different for everyone, maybe set a timer for sipping so you can remind yourself you need this so sip sip sip. Hope these tips help

No. Only after two sips I get the tightness. I'm completely repealed by food and drink. I know this will improve but I'm getting depressed.

I'm sipping today no matter what.

Scared of ending up back in the hospital.

I think everyone goes through a little depression. I know I did my hormones were everywhere except where they should have been.

My surgeon said one sip wait 3 min take another sip if you can sip again in 3 min do it and keep that up until you can sip anymore, then wait 20min and try again if you cant then 30min.

It's normal. This group is the best. Here want to feel better. My first cry was over a sportsbra.

I have an incision between my breasts so I couldn't wear a regular bra and had to get a sportsbra no wire and barely any support.

I balled my eyes out because I felt it made my boobs look ugly and I had to leave the house like that.

It's funny now but it wasn't then.

The sadness passes and will before you know it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
