Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

Recommended Posts

Okay everyone, I have a question. I am 3 weeks post op tomorrow and sometimes when I move or turn over in bed my incisions feel like they are pulling. It is not really painful nut definitely not comfortable. Is anyone else feeling this and when does it start to go away? Also at the end of a more active day, my incisions feel a little achy.

The nurses taught me how to brace my belly with a firm pillow as you turn and get up. Really helps.

I was getting the pulling sensation maybe 4 or 5 days post op I'm 3 weeks post op today and haven't had the pulling sensation in 2 day. I think it may be the way we get up. My incisions got achy after a productive day I think it's from all the movement.

I had this, too... As with sylviaflowers, it went away and I have not felt it in a while, but took about 3 weeks...

I just got home from surgery. Can only take two sips at a time. The third causes great tightness and pain.

Still shocked that I had that courage to get this sleeve. Went shockingly well but feels like I've been punched.

Hello October family, congrats to you all! A quick update to share my journey. I'm still only getting in one Protein Shake a day, I seem to have a mild intolerance to dairy (I can handle a little but there's a point if I have too much- ouch! Ouch! Ouch!), I seem to bounce between diarrhea and Constipation (which is super fun) and I'm tired of sip sip sip and drinking my meals. My one incision is a bit infected but I'm cleaning it regularly and taking it easy.

AND since starting Optifast pre-op shakes on September 28th, I have lost 30 lbs as of today. And for that I'm in shock and awe and so flipping happy that I'll sip sip sip, avoid dairy, and drink my meals like a champion! And eventually I'll conquer even those nasty Protein shakes! Lol

I just turned 3 weeks yesterday. I still have that sometimes. It's not super painful, but you can tell it is tender.

Ugh...super super super bad day...work was horrible...hurting tonight. ..not getting my Protein and Water in. Scared to death I am going to end up malnourished and dehydrated. Hormones all over the place...could cry on command...just needed to vent...love you guys...going to bed

I've been moody today too. Just cry you might feel better. I just try to remember the emotions are going to pass and later or tomorrow will be a new day to start fresh. Everyday is going to be different and we are going to have some hard days mine was yesterday I was so moody and mean but I had reason I hadn't eaten anything in 8 hours. Just know you're not alone! Hope later is better

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
