Small victories this week!

Recommended Posts

So I started my journey in January at 388lbs, then on my surgery date June 10th was at 346lbs, then this Monday I hit 299lbs !!!!!!!!!, on Wednesday I went to the gym and broke my recent PB, I arm curled 80lbs x 3 reps on the Cross Pulley Rack( my old PB 15 years ago was 90lbs x3 reps) so I will hit my goal of 80lbs on the arm curl bar by December, and tomorrow we are going to the beach before school starts on Monday, they let me off work this morning since it was slow, I went to Walmart and got some shorts and a T-shirt at a size 48-50, that is now 11 waist sizes down from 60-61w, and I think my first stall is over, s o much to be grateful and happy for but little time to think about it since I am busy setting new milestones all the time now, I feel as if I'm working off perpetual motion now, u feel good then hit a milestone and I want to keep going................

It's been alot harder than any of my diets in the past, but because I wanted it, and now have the tools and knowledge it is very rewarding and it makes you want to do more and more, and it does get easier, I'm even having this tattooed on my back right shoulder next year as a reminder, it may not mean as much to some people but it has very deep meaning for me And made me tear up when I first saw it post-254362-14402021665836_thumb.jpg

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
