4 more days counting today of this hangry pre-op diet. Cannot wait for Tuesday, did my pre-admission testing on Wednesday and am good to go. Looks like I will be first up for the OR on the 8th. :D

I'm also on my final few days of the pre-op diet. Drinking some nasty tasting "healthy" Soup. Anything is better than the sweet Protein Shakes though.

Sorry about the whining.

sigh....

Oh, and today is our wedding anniversary. My husband found a juice bar to take me to this evening. He'll eat a gorgeous salad and pizza while I drink carrots, kale, and cucumber.... B)

I am Sept 17th. I start the liquid diet tomorrow and I'm freaking out - it just seems impossible. I will miss the food!

My surgery is tomorrow at 2pm and I'm going through so many emotions...excitement, fear...and HUNGER!! Seems like I'm the first of our bunch. I check in at noon and surgery is at 2pm. I'll be letting u guys know my status. For any prayer warriors out there, please say a prayer on my behalf for no complications and a speedy recovery. Until next time sleeve sisters...✌????

Good Luck!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
