I'm nearly a month out from my revision. I lost a few lbs of Water weight shoeing the first well and and some then NOTHING. I'm doing everything by the book and I'm deeply frustrated.

What revision did you have?

Are you losing inches? Sometimes it takes a while for the scale to catch up. Don't give up yet, especially so soon out.

I'm afraid because the story I usually hear is that weight loss is most dramatic immediately after surgery and them slows down. If I'm not losing in what is supposed to be the dramatic phase them what is there to look forward to?

Hang in there. You may have more swelling than the first time WLS patient. Stall is normal around week 3 and 4. Are you tracking your food and Fluid intake? How much Protein and Fluid are you getting? Maybe call your NUT and show them your food logs and see what they can suggest?

Have you talked to your NUT? That would be my next step - with copies of your food logs.

I am 3 months out and have slowed down dramatically. I would discuss with your doctor!

I am also a band-to-bypass revision patient and my first month was very slow. I stalled early on and the stall lasted a couple of weeks, but once I was able to eat actual food I started losing weight. I am now 4 months out and have lost about 55 pounds since surgery. Weight loss for me has definitely been slower than it was early on with the band, but I feel soooo much better with bypass than I did with the band and I am down 71 pounds from my highest weight (in December at band removal), so bypass is definitely working for me. Hang in there. The first month is not an indicator of how things will go for you moving forward. Your body is still adjusting to the major shock from this surgery and you are pretty much just trying to meet Protein requirements and getting your Fluid in at this point. Once you are on a good eating and exercise regimen you will lose. It's very disheartening to not see the scale move when you are expecting it to, but it WILL move, believe me. Congratulations on taking this step toward your future health. There are a lot of us who have converted and I am seeing many, many success stories with revision on this forum. I expect you are going to be another one! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
