jen85 2 Posted August 16, 2015 Hi my name is Jenny and I'm 30 years old. I've struggled with my weight since I was diagnosed with pcos at 15 years of age. In the last couple of years it has gotten out of hand. I am currently the heaviest I've ever been which is both scary and disappointing. After many failed attempts of diet and exercise and months of Internet research I decided things really needed to change and I definitely needed to take my life back! My surgery date is set for 16th October. If anyone has similar dates I am interested in having a support buddy who is going to be going through or has been through the same journey. GoldCoastSleever 0 Posted October 13, 2015 I've just come out of my surgery on October 8th. All went very well - apart from just after the op, I've only had a bit of discomfort during the night. Couple of recommendations for hospital - 1. face spray - I got quite flushed and found a bit of moisture really refreshed. I had a green tea spray which also smelled lovely. 2. chap stick 3 bottled Water - the hospital only gave me tap Water which smelled like chlorine (might have been extra sensitive to smells after the op) 4. if you're a coffee junkie, arrange for someone to bring you in a decent cup in the morning. It makes you feel so much better having a coffee, if that's what you're used to. 5. Dry mouth spray - I didn't get this but I was wishing I had because I went more than 30 hours without drinking (had the IV fluids but my mouth was horrid) 6. Mouthwash - again, your mouth feels like horrid so it's good to refresh every time you go to the bathroom 7. Soft toilet wipes - just in case you get diarrhoea 8. Your own pillow - anything to make you more comfy 9. Soft t-shirt nighties - you really just want something soft and comfy to wear in bed.
