@jamielogical Understand your point, but realize your experience does not make an experienced, trained professional a "big fat liar".

I was saying that in a joking tone. I wasn't trying to be insulting to your surgeon or any surgeon. But I think if you took a poll of people on this site who are approaching a year or more post-op. 99.9999% of them will tell you they've experienced hunger in the first year. My surgeon certainly never made any kind of claim about not feeling ANY hunger for a full year.

I am 5 years out of my gastric sleeve and have not felt hungry one day since I had it, but here lately it seems I can eat al little more and I actually have a feeling of hunger was just wondering if this is normal or if I am eating to much at one time or to many times a day.

Has anyone else had this experience?

That's crap! You can/ and probably will feel hunger. I didn't for the first 6 months but I do now.

@@khaled - I think I mentioned all of this earlier except for the PPI. I can only suggest you call your NUT.

18 days out and i do feel real hunger, especially in the morning. The good news is that very little ends the hunger. If i have 1 egg scrambled i am full. In the past it would have been 2 eggs with cheese, toast and hashbrowns.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
