Today was my cheat day and I had a taco this morning, 1/2 a ham and pepper jack sandwich for lunch and some chicken for dinner....... And I think I still only hit 600 calories, probably 150 carbs( usually I keep it at 50 carbs) I think I cheated myself !!!!????

You did it, admitted it, and now.....get back to what you know! :) (A little tough love)

Actually, I do have more than my allotted carbs occasionally to shock my body. It has helped me along my journey.

I agree with @@wantingabetterlife I occasionally change things up with carbs and it's helped my weight loss.

When you do that, do you increase calories too? I'm stalled and trying to figure out if I need to shake up my diet. I'm 6 weeks out.

I keep on track with high Protein and low carb. My body seems to get stuck after a while of being in Ketosis. When I up my carbs and calories for a day, it seems to like it. There have been times when nothing changes the scale but my body did change. Stalls stink and sometimes nothing helps!

@ her 1981: my theory is changing on this weight loss and diet change, for me personally as soon as I am certain that I would refuse to fall back into my old habits I would like to find that elusive balance in my diet that has escaped me for so long, one of my biggest fears are that there is still no long term research to say say what really happens 15, 20 years down the line, so I want to keep learning and gathering information during my transitioning phase to get the right amount of Protein, fat, carbs, calories, etc....... Also I want to stay away from as much processed food as I can, and eventually even use raw sugar twice a week, I see all this as a guide to ensure for me to stay on track for now, but I've been able to gauge myself enough that I've been lucky not to hit the dreaded stall yet and in a few days I'll hit my 2 month anniversary, one other thing I promised myself not to do is to take my weight everyday, the scale it seems becomes a foe, right now I'm tweaking things like diet and exercise, since January - 81lbs, since surgery on June 10th -39.6lbs, down from 58 to 47.8 BMI, and 4lbs of muscle gained, used to average 45 min at the gym 2 x a week, now up to 1 1/2 to almost 2 hours 3 x a week, and I'm not wanting complacency to get in the picture.........

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
