I found out on Friday that I am scheduled for surgery August 6 and tomorrow I go to my final class to get pre op and post op instructions! And today I told my manager that I will need at least 2 weeks off! I wrk from home so I am hoping that after two weeks I will at least be feeling up to opening my laptop....anyone care to share how long it took before you were ready to venture back into the world? I know everyone is different just ready to hear some ideas....its all getting so real!!! Finally????????????????

How exciting. I personally know of people that had sedentary jobs and went back to work within a few days. Good luck on your journey!

@@kblbe98, August 6 will be here faster than you think!!! When I had my surgery, I was working from home. I had surgery on Thursday, was discharged from hospital on Friday, and was back to work on Monday. Do I recommend that? Nope. I had the worst post-op brain fog on Monday!!! But Tuesday I was fine. I worked mostly from the couch or from my bed with the wedge pillow holding me upright -- if you have a recliner or something, that would be ideal. So yes, 2 weeks should be good especially if you work from home!!

I was working on my laptop in the hospital the next day, mainly because I was bored out of my skull. Depends on what you do. The docs in Mexico don't really believe in narcotics, so there was little fog and my procedure was done in less than 30 minutes.

I'm a Realtor, and I was working the day I got home, answering emails from clients who didn't know I had surgery. I also had 2 closings that week I attended. So I don't think you doing a little work from home will be an issue.

I took 11 days off but I was ready to get back after 5 days. I was bored to death at home and ready to get out. I was off pain meds and driving at that point. I still took the time off that I had asked for but I really could have gone back.

My surgery was on a Monday.... released from the hospital on Tuesday. Wed/Thurs were my worst days, very tired, zero energy. Friday was like a light bulb came on and my energy was back. Saturday I was 95%..... everyone's story is different, but that's my experience

I work from home. The first week there was no way - I was so exhausted and just couldn't do anything but rest. The second week I was still super tired and worked about 4-5 hours a day. By week 3 I was fine and back to work full time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
