Holy cow. How long does it take to get past this? I have never been so bone tired in my entire life.

I'm 18 days post rny and I haven't the strength of a newborn.

More than enough Water. 60 grams at least Protein. Eating soft foods.

Doing everything right. I guess I'm just not used to the weakness.

Wow.

I just had dinner and we clears the plates from the table. I started to empty the dishwasher and after I put two things into an upper cabinet I was done. Couldn't even lift my arms.

Ok. Done whining.

Your body is losing weight at an alarming rate. If you can, let your body rest as much as possible. At some point you will wake up with more energy than you know what to do with. Seriously. Good luck.

Thanks wildGoose. I think I'll take a nap and think about that.

Hope you're feeling a bit better. The exhaustion you spoke of seems to be a pretty common complaint as a new post op.

Took me almost 4 weeks to stop feeling completely exhausted! Keep doing what you are supposed to, make sure you force yourself to get out and walk several times a day too!

It took me about 4 weeks as well to stop feeling completely exhausted. Up until then, taking a shower could be my one activity for the day.

I was exhausted all the time too. Horrible feeling. I had to take naps just to get through the day. I am 4 1/2 months out now and finally getting better. Still tired but I don't have to have naps now. Good luck...it does get better!!

I was exhausted for a good 6 weeks.. resting is the best way to help, on top of Protein and Water. It does go... honest!! Hope you feel better soon ☺

It took a good month to feel energized. I can say when it came though I felt amazing, I was ready to run. I often have more energy than my 14 year old. Caffeine use to be my drug, but ever since I dumped it I feel great!!

Tomorrow will be 5 weeks post op for me, and I am still pretty tired. No pain, no tummy issues, no other bad side effects to speak of really, just fatigue. Off to nap! :P

Had my surgery the same day as @cervidae. I've been napping a lot lately too. Must be normal because I'm not normally a napper.

I am nearly 4 months out and still feel tired. Not as bad as it was but I do hit a wall sometimes and have to be in bed by 7 30.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
