ARE THERE ANY OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2015 SLEEVERS OUT THERE?

Recommended Posts

I have finished with my nutritionist, pysch eval, barium swallow, ekg, X-rays, and waiting back for the results of my pre op blood work. I go back in on oct 1 for my 3 month supervised diet visit and will find out when my surgery will be. Prob first week in November. He is also going to be submitting to my insurance company the same day so I'm super nervous!

I'm going to dr. Mcdevitt in summerville, sc in the charleston area.

I have decided to use Dr. Ramos Kelly in Tijuana, Mexico for my VSG. I am self-pay and the cost savings are enormous! A local hospital is having a 'deal' and charging $15,000 total for the VSG. Granted, this is using the Da Vinci robot. Dr. Ramos Kelly offers two options based on which hospital you would like to use and I am going with the more expensive option and using Hospital Angeles in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The total will be around $7,800. That's a difference of $7,200. That total does not include air fair.

My original want was a date in October, but I have a five year old daughter and I really have no childcare available for her unless my husband stayed back with her and there's no way in heck that's happening. So we were looking at bringing her with us for the trip. However, my husband has a bad feeling about that and doesn't want to do it. Let's just say that he knows that I have my heart set on this and have made my decision, but he's kinda just along for the ride right now.

So...if we don't want to take my daughter, the only people available to watch her are only available during the week. Her grandparents work on weekends, which has made lots of things suck. They've never been to a birthday party because those have to be on the weekend for most people except them.

Oh...and they are not to know that I am doing this. They will be told that this is just a vacation to Mexico and only that because we are sure to call from the hotel and it will show up as coming from Mexico.

Okay, so...back to the kid...she's in school during the week. And her school is strict about only allowing 10 days unattended before having to report to the school's truancy officer. But the grandparents don't live near enough to take her to school. So we need to find a time where she's already out of school and won't miss a bunch of days. Hello Thanksgiving!

I don't know if this will even be possible but I emailed Dr. Kelly's coordinator (who I've already spoken to over the phone) about whether or not I could schedule the surgery on November 24th. If so, then I'm ready to get rolling with flights and what to pack. If not, then I'm still trying to figure out scheduling.

I would love to be added to the Facebook group if there is still room, but I will message my email.

Hey there BacktoB-

I have two more appointments before I will get my surgery date so at this point I'm still pre-op. My next two dates are 9/28 and 10/9 (medical clearance, and re-evaluation with my surgeon). I should be all set to get my date (looking like October for me) as long as I haven't gained any weight. Let's do it together! Support is all we need to keep up afloat.

My surgery will be here in Michigan where I live. Not doing the Mexico thing. I actually have a co-worker who with that route and she's doing really awesome. She had her surgery with a Dr. Alamanza. She has kept me in the loop with her and she has had no complications and she's lost a bunch of weight.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
