Is it normal for you to be very weak after the ds surgery? That is my only problem. How do i get my strength back.

I had RNY surgery, so the same protocol may not apply. But I suspect that the weakness is due to not meeting the Fluid, Vitamin, and Protein requirements. Also drugs may interfere with the process.

I had the DS loop and I had problems with weakness . I don't know if everyone has it the same. I fell a lot at first, but as I kept walking and kept up with my Protein, Vitamin, and Fluid intake it's gotten better.

I felt really weak after my sleeve. Even in the hospital. I chalked it up to the anesthesia but after several days at home and not even feeling like I could carry my purse I called the doc. Turned out that my blood pressure meds were no longer needed. It was making my blood pressure too low and that's where my weakness was coming from. I honestly felt like my neck was not strong enough to hold up my head. And that I couldn't carry anything without my arms hurting. Just something to keep in mind.

I had same issues with no meds. doctor also said feeling weak was normal because I am eating a lot less calories (fuel).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
