Advice, Please - Surgeon vs. NUT
My surgeon said at least 60 grams of protein a day, and no more than 60 grams of carbs. Protein first and if my carbs are coming from natural things then I will do fine. That was basically his way of saying the processed foods should be avoided. I don't have a nutritionist and I am ok with that. I am 5 months out and down 72 pounds. Started at 289 and I am down to 217. I am 5'9". I have not been as great about getting in all my walking and working out but I am working on it. I would listen to what the nutritionist says. It's more in line with what I hear.

Stomach bug after GSV.... How to deal?
Hey everyone. I am almost 5 months out of surgery. My surgery went super smooth with very little complication. However today, I am sick as a dog. I have picked up a stomach bug from somewhere and have been struggling with nausea and diarrhea all day. I am super dehydrated and have called my surgeon and he said to monitor it and if it gets too bad to go to the ER and have some fluids done IV. I am struggling with getting enough fluids in and everything seems to be going right through. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? Anyone else been here? Thanks in advance.

Halloween Challenge!
Finally had a break in the 17 day stall. I hit 234.2 this morning. I had been hovering between 237 and 236.4 for the last two weeks. Nothing I have done was making the scale move. I hate this part of the surgery. The stalls suck and make me feel like I am doing something wrong. But thankfully I know in my head I am doing exactly what I am supposed to.

My Doctor faked my surgery!
I told my doc that I could feel the water and liquids in a weird way after surgery and that was the only thing I was sure had changed. I joked with him about how all he did was poke me with a stick and call it good. He assured me that he had done surgery and it's very evident but I totally get how you're feeling.

Tall girls
I am 5'8" and I had surgery 6/5/15. I am down 55 pounds in 14 weeks but I haven't lost anything really over the last 10 days. Stalls suck!! I feel like I am losing slow too but doc says I am doing fine so I am ok with it. Highest weight was 293. Day of surgery was 289 and currently I am at 234. This was a few pounds ago but you can tell a big difference.
